What is IB Diploma?
IBD is two years long course for students aged 16 to 19 years, that is substitute for last two years of grammar school. Study language is English.
Since 1994, Gymnázium Jura Hronca in Bratislava is included in world wide network of schools, that provide (except national programme) highly demanding, internationally recognized pre-university course International Baccalaureate (IB). Slovakia has joined the countries, that provides IB programme and supports geographical mobility (ability to move from one country to another during studies) of both Slovak and international students. GJH offers 24 state funded positions for students.
Students from outside of Bratislava can use services of dormitories in Bratislava.GJH offers about 36 students opportunity to study IB programme. These students are being selected on the basis of their academic abilities and personal qualities.
We have experiences with more than ten years of teaching IBD programme and our students are high above world average. Many of our graduates get scholarships at foriegn universities, including Universities such as Harvard, Princeton, Yale, MIT, Macalester, Brown, but also European ones (University of Bremen, Sorbonne, …)
